Shortleaf Heart Pine Flooring and Lumber

Red Hills shortleaf pine is sustainably harvested from natural forests, not planted pine tracts. Many of the trees from which it comes are over 150 years old. As with our longleaf, this results in a higher heart content and denser grain than wood from younger, planted pines that make up the "new heart" market today.  While we sometimes have some shortleaf in inventory, we often run this as a custom cut, with trees specifically harvested, sawed, dried, and dressed to make your home one-of-a-kind.  Sometimes we can floor an entire house from just a tree or two, resulting in a traditional look that hearkens back to earlier ages when many homes were made from lumber milled on-site.
